His mouth let our a warm shhh as he pressed her blood-moistened lips with his finger.

“We must always be moderate in our ecstasies and reserved in our throes, or else they’ll take you away from me. I can hear them watching us with their envious tongues salivating like hungry dogs… gods.”

She never questioned the visions or voices trapped in his head, even when their meaning escaped her.

“They’re hungry for our purity both above and in Hades below, hungry for what doesn’t exist in eternity… envious of our here and now.”

The louder the voices became the clearer the vision in his head, the more she fathomed their meaning.

Until one beautiful morning as he lay inside her she saw and heard them too.
